Inflammation of joints is called arthritis. The destruction of cartilage between bones forming the joint causes inflammation to that joint that causes friction between bones i.e.; rubbing of bones together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Genetics: inherited bone deformities<\/li>
    • Gender : most likely to occur in females than males.<\/li>
    • Age : most likely to occur in old age people<\/li>
    • Weight: obese people are likely to develop osteoarthritis<\/li>

    • Prolong stress on the joint<\/li>

      TREATMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Ice application on the affected area to reduce swelling<\/li>
      • Weight loss<\/li>
      • Muscle strengthening exercises<\/li>
      • Stretching exercises<\/li>
      • Hydrotherapy exercises: water resistance provides better strength and flexibility<\/li>
      • Contrast bath (hot and cold therapy)<\/li>
      • Mobility devices<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        When the pain is unbearable and interfere with the activities of daily living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        PRECAUTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Maintain an average body mass index(BMI): keeping a healthy body weight<\/li>
        • Keep your sugar intake limited<\/li>
        • Maintain a regular schedule for mobility exercises<\/li>
        • Maintain correct posture<\/li>
        • Avoid putting weight on only side of the body<\/li>
